Software Engineer, Photographer and aspiring Astrophotographer
I am an independent amateur photographer with a profound passion for image-making that began in my teenage years with a homemade darkroom. My foundational gear, the rugged Zenit EM and the reliable Pentax ME Super (which served me well through university and caving trips), instilled a deep appreciation for the fundamentals of light and composition.
As an independent amateur photographer, I was honored to receive the Royal Photographic Society’s LRPS distinction in 2008. My work has since been featured in major publications, including The Sun and the German tabloid Bild am Sonntag.
I have a wide range of photographic interests, including the dynamic energy of live music events and festivals, impactful photojournalism, and the precision of studio portraiture.
After transitioning through early digital with the Minolta Dimage 5 and later the reliable Canon EOS line (20D, 40D), I now shoot exclusively with the Sony mirrorless system (a switch prompted by a memorable, camera-fatal downpour at the 2014 Notting Hill Carnival). My latest focus is merging my technical and creative skills as an aspiring Astrophotographer, and to gain further RPS distinctions.
